The narrative of sound: discovering a shape, taking shape, giving shape, being shaped. At the very moment we generate a thought. Mitologia privata (Private Mythology) is in some way a collection of steps, of sound thoughts, slow, far from abstract. One has to sit back, lie down wherever possible and watch the sound. For a fragment of time, a brief immersion, a sequence. It is an interweaving of concrete, almost tactile sounds, amalgamated by an idea of elastic and expansive time. Is there such a thing as breathing music?





Canedicoda (Treviso, 1979) is a Milan-based multidisciplinary artist active in the fields of performance, design, fashion and music (under the alias Ottaven). He has developed a rich, iridescent but always immediately recognisable authorial universe. A key figure in the passage and circulation in Italy of multiple currents of innovative and minority artistic, stylistic and musical research, he has to his credit a vast history of collaborations with production labels, non-profit spaces, collectives and individual Italian and foreign artists. Since 2003, under the pseudonym Canedicoda, he has been conducting a personal research into language, style and method, creating the production label of the same name. He has collaborated regularly with Xing (Netmage Festival, Live Arts Week, Raum), Le Dictateur, Plusdesign Gallery, C2C, Nero, Fondazione Bonotto, Marsèlleria/Marsèll, Viafarini, Istituto Svizzero and various independent and institutional situations. In Milan, he opened the artist's atelier/concept store Gabbianacci (2012>14), followed by a series of shot-stores (temporary ateliers), a practice still active today. In 2018, he and Valentina Lucchetti started Edizioni Brigantino, a design, art and curating project. His work has been presented in contemporary art centres and festivals In Italy and abroad including Museion Bolzano, Palazzo delle Esposizioni Rome, Triennale Milan, Centro Pecci Prato, M HKA Antwerp, MAXXI L'Aquila, Manifattura Tabacchi Florence, Far Festival Nyon. Many established artistic collaborations: Matteo Castro, Luca Trevisani, Cesare Pietroiusti, Luigi Presicce, Roberta Mosca, Kinkaleri, Alessandro Bosetti, Annamaria Ajmone, Cristina Kristal Rizzo, Carlos Casas, Jung an Tagen, Dennis Tyfus, Renato Grieco, Giovanni Morbin. Among his live projects, in addition to solo concerts under the alias of Ottaven (field recordings/experimental) and in duos such as Primorje with Matteo Castro (concrete/tape-loop music), the 100 ad personam performances of Adagio con Buccia (2015-16), appointments of (co)designing and assembling textiles around thinking bodies, and Musica per un giorno (2016>2039) with dancer Roberta Mosca, a long performance lasting 24 hours annually for 24 years, stand out. He has published the diary-book Adagio con Buccia (NERO, 2018), the sketch-book 80H - eighty imaginary houses i'll build for you (bruno, 2016), and various audio editions on Second Sleep, Holiday Records, Le Dictateur and Xing - Xong collection. He has taught Fashion Accessories Prototyping and Textile Design at NABA Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti Milano (lectureship still ongoing), and Material Science and Techniques at the Free University of Bolzano.
